LIKEMOVING / JOURNAL01 — 143

List the instrument and its accessories separately, then plan handling around the actual model and building access.

01

Identify the model before discussing dismantling

A portable keyboard on a folding stand and a cabinet-style digital piano are different moving jobs. Send the model name, photographs, assembled dimensions and available manufacturer weight information. Explain whether a bench, pedal unit, music rest and separate speakers are included. Do not assume that a cabinet can be separated simply because another model could. Follow the model instructions, or arrange suitable specialist help, before removing a stand or pedal assembly. Photograph cable connections and place detachable accessories in identified packages without pressing against keys or connectors. For example, a keyboard moving within Tel Aviv may have its own suitable case, while a cabinet instrument going to Ramat Gan needs a clear plan for doors, lift and landing turns. These are planning scenarios, not a fixed price or a promise that every instrument fits a lift.

02

Agree the carrying plan and check the complete set

Measure the route at pickup and delivery, including the lift opening rather than only its interior. Tell the mover about steps between the street and lobby, carry distance and any fragile cabinet finish. Ask what protection is appropriate for the instrument and whether dismantling or reassembly is included. Keep mains leads, the correct power supply and pedal cables together with an inventory number; do not substitute an unknown adapter when unpacking. A padded cover may prevent dust but is not automatically a transport case. At arrival, prepare a stable place according to the model instructions and account for every accessory before disposing of packaging. Examine the exterior and record concerns while the protection is still available. Electronic repair, software setup and tuning of a separate acoustic instrument are not implied by a digital-piano transport booking. Have the agreed scope and delivery contact in writing.
