A short move may avoid a road trip, but the route, lift and building schedule still need a plan.

01

Map the internal route

Confirm which entrances, corridors and lifts connect the two apartments, and whether residents or management require a booked time. Measure the largest pieces against doorways and lift cabins at both ends. If the building has separate entrances or levels, tell the mover the exact route rather than describing it simply as an in-building move.

02

Agree on loading and protection

Ask whether the crew will use a trolley, lift or temporary staging point, and how shared floors and corners will be protected. Keep the destination clear before furniture arrives; label items by room so the team does not make unnecessary trips. Confirm the inventory, crew time and price in writing even when the addresses share a street number.
