Identify the rug construction and destination before choosing its packing method or placing furniture in the new room.
Check the rug and its care guidance first
List each rug with its dimensions, construction if known and destination room. A flexible washable cover, a thick rug with a stiff backing and a delicate handmade piece should not be given one universal folding rule. Consult the manufacturer or a suitable specialist for the permitted packing method, direction and support. Do not force a rug into a small carton simply because that is convenient. Arrange any necessary cleaning early enough for the rug and its backing to be dry before packaging; do not conceal damp material in a sealed bundle. For example, a small entry rug moving within Netanya and a large living-room rug going to Kfar Saba need different package sizes and handling. Photograph existing stains, worn fringes and edge damage, and keep underlays as identified separate components where appropriate.
Plan the package around the route and the room
Give the mover the dimensions of the prepared package, not only the rug laid flat. Check whether the resulting long or bulky load can pass through lift doors, stair turns and the entrance to the destination room. Agree on clean outer protection and restraint that does not damage the surface or backing. Keep liquids and dirty outdoor items away from the packed rug, and do not use the rug itself as wrapping for furniture. At the new address, identify where it should lie before placing heavy wardrobes or tables over its footprint. Count rugs and underlays, inspect their condition and unpack according to the care instructions. Special cleaning, repair or treatment of a valuable textile is not automatically included in moving work. If storage is involved, confirm the actual environment and duration rather than assuming transport packaging is a long-term storage solution.
